We are extremely happy and excited to announce that DeskMod v3.1 will officially be launched this coming Monday, July 29th, at 7PM central time! Everything is now in place for launch, and we're ready to finally put this live. The launch of v3.1 will be accompanied by many surprises making up for our largest launch ever.
The first step in launching DeskMod v3.1 will be the freeze of uploads starting Monday at exactly 12:01AM so that we can perform the needed maintenance for the launch. While the uploads will be frozen, the rest of the site will stay fully active up until 5PM that day. At that point the entire site will be taken down so that we may perform the remaining needed tasks to ensure a proper launch. Between 5PM and 6PM we look forward to everyone joining us on IRC for our huge launch extravaganza!
At 6PM we will begin the always entertaining launch party on IRC! Located on IRC at irc.deskmod.com in #deskmod, the launch party will feature a giveaway of over 500 dollars in prizes, an interactive SHOUTcast show, several pre-announcements, and a few words from the entire team prior to launch. While our main giveaway will be on IRC during the launch party, we understand that not everyone can make it, and we will also have a giveaway on the site that everyone can join in on. The launch party will officially last until 9PM, but we urge everyone to stay around as long as they want.
Once the clock hits exactly 7PM the site will go back up unveiling DeskMod v3.1. We'll give everyone a good amount of time to explore the new site and read all of the announcements before starting the IRC giveaway. There is going to be a lot to look at, to say the least, so make sure to explore every part of the site! At that point the giveaway will begin.
In the past we've had some problems when we've tried to do these giveaways, due to shipping and other complications. However, the good news is, everything we're giving away is sitting directly next to me, and there will be absolutely no delay in getting it to you. So, what are the prizes we speak of? While I'll keep some of it a secret still, listed below are descriptions for the grand, first, and second place winners. The prizes will be awarded by a random drawing on IRC, and in a raffle format on the site itself.

This giveaway is available to everyone, no matter where you are located! We will be sending out all of the prizes very shortly after the giveaway. The grand prize will be sent via FedEx Overnight delivery, and the first and second prizes will be instantly awarded online. The secret items that will be unveiled at launch will be sent out via priority mail.
