After 7 months and literally thousands of hours of work, DeskMod v3.1 is now officially live! Sporting over 80 new features, improvements, and bug fixes, this is by far the best version of DeskMod ever. In addition to the new features, the update to DeskMod includes a totally updated default look, nearly 30 site mods, and the ability to make your own! Several very important announcements were made as well, including the fact DeskMod is now non-profit.

DeskMod v3.1 builds upon the already stable and featureful codebase that was built with v3 to increase the usefulness of existing functionality, organize the existing content better, and to add other features to extend the site. The most notable new features are the site mod constructor, content center, user created plugins (ModPlugins), greatly improved ISM system, improved profiles, collapsible sections, massive re-organization, major speed increases, and much more. In addition to all of these features comes a brand new default layout created by DeskMod team designer Kinwashi.

However, the updated site itself wasn't the only announcement made yesterday. DeskMod was announced to go non-profit, a new second server was put online, a full web development company was launched, a second major site was announced, a site for DeskMod's parent company (ModWorks Group) was launched, $500 in prizes were given away at the launch party, and t-shirts were announced immediately available for purchase.

You can now place an order for the first version of the DeskMod t-shirts at http://store.deskmod.com. The t-shirts come in medium, large, and extra large. All proceeds will be used to continue funding the site. Depending on the interest level, we plan to add additional t-shirt designs and launch other forms of merchandise in the future.
